New BatesLine posts over the weekend:
State Sen. Regina Goodwin traffic stop video: We’ve got all the video from the bodycams of all three deputies who responded to the traffic stop at Archer and Cincinnati in downtown Tulsa. The Tulsa Democrat’s behavior doesn’t look any better in full context. We’ve also got News on 6’s botched and later corrected Sunday update to the story, misreading the court docket.
2025 Tulsa County GOP precinct meetings: Details on how to get involved in steering the future of the local and state Republican Party organizations. We’ve got dates, times, and addresses for all of the Tulsa County meetings on Tuesday and the Wagoner County meetings on Thursday.
SB 1051: Campaign Expenditure Transparency Act: State Sen. Dusty Deevers (R-Elgin) wants dark-money spenders to disclose who’s in charge. “When I am assessing a bill before a hearing, I want to know: Who supports this bill and why? Who opposes this bill and why? How is it a voter supposed to determine the validity of a claim on a mailer if they are unable to find out who is making the claim?” Passage would be a positive first step, but so far the bill has not been assigned to a committee.
Have a great week.
