For what it's worth:
Last night on the last leg of the two-day drive back from two weeks out east, I recorded an experiment. Sound quality is mediocre, and I recommend 1.25x or 1.5x speed.
The first half is me musing about what others have called the cognitive burden of voting, and how much heavier it is for Americans than for citizens of our sister Anglosphere nations, and how busy voters delegate that burden to pundits, editorial boards, and primary voters. Perhaps we vote directly for too many things (22 items on my ballot); perhaps they vote for too few (no direct vote for chief executive at any level).
About 37 minutes in I talk about the presidential election particularly from a pro-life perspective, then at 45 minutes I get into the rest of the ballot. As I said, you might want to listen on high speed. You'll find all those recommendations in written form at batesline.com/endorsements
If nothing else, it was a way to pass the time and stay awake on the Will Rogers Turnpike on a dark rainy evening. Maybe you'll find it worthwhile.
